Established in early 2009, the MBA Alumni Society's mission is to develop, maintain and strengthen relationships among Clemson University, its MBA Alumni, and its MBA Students by providing professional and social events to ensure the continued excellence of Clemson’s graduate business program.
The Clemson MBA Student Association is now partnering with the Triune Mercy Center, a homeless shelter and non-denominational church in Greenville. MBA Students are providing a variety of services to include: Triune Mercy website redesign, clean up and reorganization of the on-site computer lab, and co-hosting of the Art of the Homeless Exhibition and Sale on November 12th.
Also getting in on the action is the MBA Alumni Society. During the October 16 Fall Social, Raffle tickets for an "Ultimate Clemson Package" were exchanged for personal hygiene items on Triune's needs list. One attendee walked away with some great Clemson merchandise and the needs of Triune were fulfilled. A Special thanks to Clemson Alumni Association, College of Business and Behavioral Science, and IPTAY for the "Ultimate Clemson Package" donations. Also, on October 22, Rick Ammons, president, was the guest bartender at Soby’s Restaurant on Main Street in Greenville. 20% of the bar sales for the evening went to the Triune Mercy Center. Students, faculty, staff, and alumni all came out to support this event.
Students are undertaking the Triune Mercy project in conjunction with TeamMBA ; (www.gmac.com/teammba) a global initiative which encourages business schoolstudents, staff, faculty and alumni to become involved in their communities.
