Personal remembrances and tributes:
"...Fortunately, I had teamed up with Henry Leitner and Otis Morgan, former classmates at Clemson College, Clemson, South Carolina. When I was stricken with high fever, Henry and Otis would bathe my face to cool me off – when the fever subsided and the chills took over, they put their blankets and straw over me – and when the chills became wracking, they lay across my body to hold me down. I owe my life to Henry Leitner and Otis Morgan."
