Giving to Clemson: German Advancement Fund

The German section at Clemson University is committed to excellence in research, teaching and service. The section consists of three research professors who teach courses in German language, literature and philosophy from the 18th century to the present. The section also includes one full-time lecturer and one part-time lecturer who teach courses in German business, language and culture. The section encourages study abroad, including its own Summer Intensive Program in Aachen, Germany; it also actively cultivates connections to the business world through its German Professional Society and annual conferences on German in the professions. The section offers a broad range of extra-curricular activities for interested students through the German Club, film nights and the regular language practice offered by a bi-weekly Stammtisch.

The time you give to our students has been an extremely important component of the Clemson experience for them. But we would also like to expand our program along with the variety of activities and opportunities we may offer our students. In order to do so, we have to depend on financial support not only from the university but also from donations coming from the greater international community, alumni and friends of German. Such donations will support student travel (for study and internship abroad in Germany, Austria and Switzerland), teaching and teaching technology (to enhance the learning experience in and outside of the classroom), faculty research development as well as major program activities (conferences, guest speakers, film nights, social and networking events).

We would like to thank you for your continued support for and interest in German at Clemson.
